Product Description - Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Samba
About Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) Samba
A bright, elegant, beautifully flowering, perennial bulbous plant. It is native to Africa. The leaves of this flower are linear-oblong. The flowers are very large with a wonderful aroma, they sit on rather tall, thickened flower arrows. When the flowers are fully open, the petals bend beautifully and the shape of the flower changes.
Appearance
Large bulbs can produce from one to three flower arrows. On each of these arrows there are 4-6 large flowers, red in colour with a wide snow-white border along the edge of the petals. The throat is green, with white strokes that go to the middle of the petals. The shape of the flower is open, round. The diameter of the flower is about 20 cm.
The peduncle of this plant is 45 to 50 cm high. The petals are rounded, wide, curly at the throat. The pistil and staminate filaments are white. Bulbs up to 10.8 cm in diameter produce two peduncles, up to 11.5 cm - three peduncles. On average, it takes about two months from planting this flower to flowering. This plant is suitable for cutting.
