Peony Etched Salmon is a herbaceous peony with large, densely double flowers of a pale salmon hue with a slight pearly sheen. The petals are wavy and seem to be “engraved”, which became the basis for the name of the variety (“etched”). In the center of the flower, golden stamens are often visible, adding a sunny accent to the image. The flowers have a soft, sweetish aroma that gives a feeling of calm and harmony.
This variety forms a strong bush with erect stems that hold large flowers well. The foliage is dark green, dense, with a glossy sheen, decorative throughout the season. Etched Salmon looks great both in garden compositions and in a cut – the flowers retain their freshness for a long time in a vase.

How to Plant - Peony Etched Salmon (Herbaceous)
Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs

Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.

Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.

Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.

Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist.

Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
