The magnificent Pink Vanguard peony is a perennial with semi-major pink flowers, approx. 15 cm in diameter. It is one of the rare landscape plants. The broad outer petals are long, arranged in several rows. The plant has a medium flowering time, which is greatly prolonged by the buds on the side. The sturdy stems are straight and weather-resistant. The peony does not require additional support.
The shrub is medium sized, with a maximum mature plant height of 80 cm. The Vanguard peony has beautiful green foliage, with a slight bluish cast, which looks attractive throughout the season. It will reveal its astonishing beauty during flowering when the pink colour fades and reveals red accents at the base of the petals.
The plant is easy to care for. A sunny location, fertile soil and moderate watering are required for the peony to enjoy its blossoms. The frost-resistant Pink Vanguard is ideal for planting in the midlands and will beautify your garden.

How to Plant - Peony Pink Vanguard (Herbaceous)
Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs

Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.

Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.

Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.

Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist.

Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
