Peony Starlight is true poetry in floral form. Bred in the United States in 1938 by the famous breeder Saunders, this variety has become a symbol of early peony blooming. Its semi-double flowers captivate with their pure, light shades: soft pink with a pearlescent sheen and a creamy center that seems to illuminate the flower from within. This color scheme is reminiscent of starlight spreading across the morning sky, which is why the peony was named Starlight. The buds open elegantly and quickly in the first days of the warm season, giving the garden an early touch of tenderness.
The delicate fragrance that envelops the flower adds even more charm. The variety is distinguished by its slender but strong stems, which can easily support the weight of the flowers. The leaves are glossy, dark green, and decorative even after flowering. It is ideal for creating light, romantic flower beds, borders, or bouquet arrangements.

How to Plant - Peony Starlight (Herbaceous)
Guide and tips for planting peony plants and bulbs

Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.

Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider than the diameter of the peony bulb or root and deep enough to accommodate it comfortably.

Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

Place the peony bulb or root in the hole with the "eyes" (small buds) facing up and the crown (thickened stem base) no more than 1-2 inches below the soil surface.

Fill the hole with soil and gently firm the soil around the bulb or root.

Water the soil until it is evenly moist.

Cover the area with a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

As the plant grows, provide support to the stem to prevent it from bending or breaking.

After the flowers have faded, cut the stem off at the base and continue to care for the plant by watering it regularly and providing it with full sun or partial shade.
