Rose planting instructions and tips

• Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil. Roses require at least six hours of direct sunlight per day.

• Dig a hole that is twice as wide and slightly deeper than the root ball of the rose plant.

• Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

• Remove the rose plant from its container and gently loosen any tangled or circling roots.

• Place the rose plant in the hole and fill the hole halfway with soil.

• Make sure the plant is level and straight, and then gently tamp the soil down.

• Water the plant thoroughly, making sure the soil is evenly moist.

• Add the remaining soil and firm it around the base of the plant.

• Water the plant again and add a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

• Water the plant regularly, making sure not to let the soil dry out completely.

• Fertilize the plant with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring and midsummer.

• Prune the rose plant in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches and promote bushier growth.

• Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 1 March until 1 June.
• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 18 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
