Product Description - Iris Hollandica Mysterious Rainbow Collection (25 bulbs)
The Iris hollandica 'Mysterious Rainbow Collection' is a breathtaking assortment of Dutch irises that delivers an explosion of jewel-like colours in late spring. Each bulb produces elegant, classic iris flowers with a dazzling spectrum of shades:
- Rich purple standards with golden-yellow falls
- Pure white standards with deep violet-blue falls
- Bright lemon-yellow standards and falls
- Clean white standards with sunny yellow falls
The large, silky blooms (10–15 cm across) are carried on sturdy, straight stems above narrow, sword-like foliage, creating a magical “rainbow” effect that lights up borders, rock gardens, or cutting beds. Perfect for mass planting or mixing in spring displays, this collection offers long-lasting cut flowers (7–10 days in the vase) with a light, sweet fragrance. The blend of colours appears almost luminous against the fresh green leaves.

How to Plant - Iris Hollandica Mysterious Rainbow Collection (25 bulbs)
Guide and tips for planting Iris Perennials Bare-Root Plants
-
Prepare the soil: Iris plants prefer well-drained soil with a pH level of 6.0 to 7.0. Amend the soil with compost or organic matter to improve the soil's fertility and drainage.
-
Choose the planting location: Select a spot that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Avoid planting in areas with standing water or where the soil remains soggy after rainfall.
-
Dig a hole: Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots of the plant. The hole should be shallow, only about 4 cm deep, and wide enough to spread the roots out.
-
Place the bare-root plant in the hole: Gently spread the roots out and place the plant in the hole. The top of the rhizome, the thickened root-like stem, should be visible above the soil surface. Backfill the hole with soil and press down firmly to eliminate air pockets.
-
Water the plant: Give the plant a thorough watering after planting to settle the soil around the roots. Continue to water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist until the plant becomes established.
-
Mulch the plant: Add a layer of organic mulch around the plant to help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Keep the mulch a few inches away from the base of the plant to prevent rot.
-
Monitor the plant: Keep an eye on the plant's growth and water it regularly as needed. Iris plants generally bloom in late spring to early summer and benefit from occasional fertilization throughout the growing season.
