Product Description - Strawberry Korona
Strawberry Korona (Medium) - Dutch variety. The hybridization of the Tamela and Induka varieties bred it. This early medium variety ripens 3-6 days earlier than the Zenga Zengana hybrid.
Appearance
The color of the berries is from bright red to dark red with a slight sheen, with a sweet and amazingly delicate taste. The pulp of strawberries is red-orange, with a strong and attractive aroma.
Taste qualities
Delicious, medium, or large berries have many valuable properties. Extremely rich in vitamin C, iron, and folic acid. Just imagine that four berries of Korona strawberries contain as much vitamin C as a giant orange!
The variety is winter-hardy and resistant to spot and gray rot. Providing strawberries with good watering is essential because their root system is quite close to the surface. It is necessary to monitor watering during the flowering period, as excessive moisture can harm the plant. Strawberry Korona responds positively to additional fertilizing.
During the growing season, a mustache is formed. Therefore, removing them in the first year is necessary, and you can leave a few in the second year for reproduction. To get a vigorous bush, you need to use the first rosettes. Also, strawberries can still be propagated by dividing the uterine bush. The appropriate time for this is July-August.

How to Plant - Strawberry Korona
Strawberry planting instructions and tips
- Choose the right time to plant: The best time to plant bare root strawberries is in spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. This gives the plants enough time to establish before the hot summer months
- Prepare the soil: Strawberries prefer well-drained soil that's rich in organic matter. Before planting, loosen the soil to a depth of 8-10 centimeters and mix in compost or aged manure.
- Soak the roots: Before planting, soak the bare root strawberries in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours to hydrate the roots.
- Dig the planting hole: Dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate the roots without bending or crowding them. The hole should be deep enough to cover the roots but shallow enough to keep the crown (where the roots meet the stem) at soil level.
- Plant the strawberries: Place the bare root strawberry plant in the planting hole and spread out the roots. Backfill the hole with soil, firming it around the roots as you go. Water the plant well to settle the soil.
- Mulch the plants: Apply a 2-3 centemeters layer of straw or other organic mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds
- Water regularly: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plants deeply once a week, or more often during hot, dry weather.
