Strawberry planting instructions and tips

• Choose the right time to plant: The best time to plant bare root strawberries is in spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. This gives the plants enough time to establish before the hot summer months
• Prepare the soil: Strawberries prefer well-drained soil that's rich in organic matter. Before planting, loosen the soil to a depth of 8-10 centimeters and mix in compost or aged manure.
• Soak the roots: Before planting, soak the bare root strawberries in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours to hydrate the roots.
• Dig the planting hole: Dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate the roots without bending or crowding them. The hole should be deep enough to cover the roots but shallow enough to keep the crown (where the roots meet the stem) at soil level.
• Plant the strawberries: Place the bare root strawberry plant in the planting hole and spread out the roots. Backfill the hole with soil, firming it around the roots as you go. Water the plant well to settle the soil.
• Mulch the plants: Apply a 2-3 centemeters layer of straw or other organic mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds
• Water regularly: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plants deeply once a week, or more often during hot, dry weather.

• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 18 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
