Thuja planting instructions and tips

• Choose a spot in your garden that receives full sun to partial shade and has well-draining soil.

• Dig a hole that is two to three times wider than the root ball of the thuja plant and slightly shallower than the height of the root ball.

• Mix some compost or other organic matter into the soil at the bottom of the hole.

• Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen any tangled or circling roots.

• Place the thuja plant in the hole and backfill with soil, making sure the plant is level and straight.

• Tamp down the soil gently to remove any air pockets.

• Water the plant thoroughly, making sure the soil is evenly moist.

• Add a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

• Water the plant regularly, especially during the hot and dry summer months.

• Prune the plant in late winter or early spring to maintain its shape and encourage dense growth.

• Summer Flowering Bulbs (dahlias, gladioli, begonias, etc.) - from 1 March until 1 June.
• Spring Flowering Bulbs (tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, etc.) - from 20 September until 1 December.
• Seeds and Garden Tools – all year round
• Roses, Perennials (except peonies), Bushes and other plants in pots - from 1 March until 1 June.
