Product Description - Tulip Candy Time
The Tulipa 'Candy Time' is an incredibly gentle, elegant, and romantic variety that brings the sweetness of spring to any landscape. Reminiscent of a fluffy marshmallow or a sophisticated peony, this double early tulip features large, dense, peony-like blooms composed of numerous satin petals. The coloration is mesmerizing, with a rich, vibrant pink center that gracefully fades to soft, creamy-white edges, creating a beautiful watercolor effect.
Growing to a sturdy 40–55 cm, 'Candy Time' boasts thick, strong stems that hold its heavy, lush blooms upright even during spring winds and rains. This variety is easy to grow, winter-hardy, and makes a fantastic choice for garden borders, mass plantings, or elegant spring arrangements. Its soft pastel palette and long-lasting freshness make it a favorite for both gardeners and florists.

How to Plant - Tulip Candy Time
Planting & Care Instructions
Tulips are hardy spring-flowering bulbs ideal for garden beds, borders, pots and balcony boxes. For the best flowering results, choose a suitable location and follow the recommended planting depth for each tulip type.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Flowering time varies by type and variety, generally from March to May.
- Position & soil: Choose a sunny position or partial shade. Plant in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For standard garden tulips, size 11/12 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart. For botanical tulips, size 6/8 cm, plant approximately 8–10 cm deep and 8–10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water moderately after planting, especially when the soil is dry. Additional watering during autumn is usually unnecessary. Avoid waterlogged soil.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Botanical tulips are particularly suitable for naturalising and can multiply and flower for many years when conditions are suitable. Garden tulips may also return in following seasons, although flowering performance depends on the variety and growing conditions.
