Product Description - Tulip Chantilly
The Tulipa 'Chantilly' embodies absolute purity, refined spring grace, and aristocratic charm. Its name, evoking the famous exquisite French lace, perfectly captures the flower's noble texture and delicacy. The large, classically formed goblets captivate with their deep, even snow-white shade and silky sheen, instantly bringing light and freshness to the garden. The dense petal structure allows the buds to hold their shape beautifully, opening very slowly and maintaining their elegant silhouette throughout the flowering period.
The plant produces very sturdy, thick, and perfectly upright stems that hold the goblets firmly, showing excellent resistance to spring rain and wind. The resilient, broad blue-green foliage, with a light waxy finish, forms a neat rosette at the base, creating a deep graphic backdrop against which the snow-white flowers stand out beautifully.
'Chantilly' is an essential element for creating elegant monochrome compositions (so-called ""white gardens"") and refreshing contrasting accents. It's ideal for formal beds, borders, mixed plantings, and neat rows along pathways. It looks most striking in dense group plantings of 10–15 bulbs, forming glowing white islands against spring greenery. It pairs beautifully with bright yellow daffodils, contrasting blue grape hyacinths, as well as deep dark-purple or rich pink tulip varieties. Thanks to its remarkably sturdy stems and long-lasting freshness, this variety is highly popular for forcing and cutting — the classic white goblets stand in a vase for an impressively long time, making them a favorite for elegant spring and wedding bouquets.

How to Plant - Tulip Chantilly
Planting & Care Instructions
Tulips are hardy spring-flowering bulbs ideal for garden beds, borders, pots and balcony boxes. For the best flowering results, choose a suitable location and follow the recommended planting depth for each tulip type.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Flowering time varies by type and variety, generally from March to May.
- Position & soil: Choose a sunny position or partial shade. Plant in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For standard garden tulips, size 11/12 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart. For botanical tulips, size 6/8 cm, plant approximately 8–10 cm deep and 8–10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water moderately after planting, especially when the soil is dry. Additional watering during autumn is usually unnecessary. Avoid waterlogged soil.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Botanical tulips are particularly suitable for naturalising and can multiply and flower for many years when conditions are suitable. Garden tulips may also return in following seasons, although flowering performance depends on the variety and growing conditions.
