Product Description - Tulip Mariage
Tulip Mariage is a variety of unusually beautiful early tulips of pale pink colour, which will undoubtedly become the main decoration, the highlight of any flower garden. The long flowering of this variety gives a real sense of spring. Luxurious bouquets of pink double tulips look exquisite and unsurpassed. The flower is very popular among florists and growers. Compositions that include the Mariage tulip stun and fall in love at first sight. Tenderness, elegance and weightlessness are synonymous with this variety.
Plant description
The Mariage tulip belongs to the peony and multi-flowered family. The variety was bred in Holland. The height of the plants is 45 cm, the stems of the tulips are strong and elastic, the leaves are bright green and elongated. The flowers are voluminous, dense, consisting of a large number of pale pink petals 5-10 cm in diameter. The period of active flowering is April-May. The plant is fragrant. The flowers have a delicate heady aroma.
Features of planting
The root system of tulips is represented by bulbs. They should be planted in loamy or sandy soils in open areas with direct sun. Before planting, the soil should be fertilised for better growth. The planting depth of the bulbs is 5-10 cm, the optimal distance between the flowers is 15 cm. Tulips like a moderate amount of moisture and need watering during dry periods. For longer flowering, the plants need to be fed regularly. The variety is resistant to low temperatures (frost resistance zone 3-4).
Mariage tulips can be grown both in open areas and in pots. In the latter case, the plants need to be additionally fertilised with fertilisers and minerals.
Flowers of this variety are also used for cutting. Bouquets of terry tulips stand in water for a long time, look fresh and are perfectly preserved.

How to Plant - Tulip Mariage
Planting & Care Instructions
Tulips are hardy spring-flowering bulbs ideal for garden beds, borders, pots and balcony boxes. For the best flowering results, choose a suitable location and follow the recommended planting depth for each tulip type.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Flowering time varies by type and variety, generally from March to May.
- Position & soil: Choose a sunny position or partial shade. Plant in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For standard garden tulips, size 11/12 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart. For botanical tulips, size 6/8 cm, plant approximately 8–10 cm deep and 8–10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water moderately after planting, especially when the soil is dry. Additional watering during autumn is usually unnecessary. Avoid waterlogged soil.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Botanical tulips are particularly suitable for naturalising and can multiply and flower for many years when conditions are suitable. Garden tulips may also return in following seasons, although flowering performance depends on the variety and growing conditions.
