Product Description - Tulips Black and White Collection
Tulips Black and White (Single Late Tulip Flower 'Black & White Mix', Single-flowered Tulipa, A contrasting mixture of Queen of Night and White Dynasty). A novelty! Everyone has different tastes: some people like bright colours, others like muted, monochrome ones. Some people like sharp contrasts, others like soft transitions of shades. If you take opposite colours, you get original contrasts, for example, black and white.
The Queen of Night tulip will not leave you indifferent. It captivates with its rounded black flowers. If Halloween were in spring, this variety would probably be number one. Its appearance is the result of decades of work by breeders who have tried again and again to grow a truly black tulip. Queen of the Night is the closest to "black" of any Dutch tulip (ever to reach black), although it is actually a deep purple colour. In a certain light, it looks black. And in arrangements, it is an expensive flower and the pride of the gardener. A tall, strong and reliable tulip with velvety flowers. It reaches a height of 60-65 cm. Strong long stem withstands rain and wind. This variety has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. It is one of the most valuable tulips in the world. White Dynasty tulip is an attractive Triumph tulip, it emphasises the dramatic beauty of the Queen of Night tulip. It is of hybrid origin. It shares many of the wonderful qualities of its parents, such as beautiful colour, good resistance to bad weather and a long flowering period. This is an incredibly elegant variety! Its flowers are white with green markings on the outside of the petals. The shape of the flower and its delicate colour are its main advantages. A charming tulip in every way! When its flowers bloom, they resemble light clouds.
This Mix blooms for a long time, especially in cool weather. It requires a well-lit place with protection from strong winds. But it can also withstand partial shade. Light loamy or sandy loamy soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction are considered the best for it. But the soil should be well-drained. During growth, especially during budding and flowering, tulips need a lot of water. Watering should be regular and plentiful. Immediately after flowering, break off only the seed box to prevent the seeds from appearing. But in no case do not cut off the leaves, the bulb will still receive nutrition from them. Tulips wintering in the ground should be covered with a layer of mulch: bark or peat. Planting density: approximately 20 bulbs per 1 sq.m. To create a dense flowering carpet, plant the plants a little closer together than usual.

How to Plant - Tulips Black and White Collection
Planting & Care Instructions
Tulips are hardy spring-flowering bulbs ideal for garden beds, borders, pots and balcony boxes. For the best flowering results, choose a suitable location and follow the recommended planting depth for each tulip type.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground becomes deeply frozen. Flowering time varies by type and variety, generally from March to May.
- Position & soil: Choose a sunny position or partial shade. Plant in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water tends to collect.
- Planting depth & spacing: Place the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards. For standard garden tulips, size 11/12 cm, plant approximately 10–15 cm deep and 10–12 cm apart. For botanical tulips, size 6/8 cm, plant approximately 8–10 cm deep and 8–10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water moderately after planting, especially when the soil is dry. Additional watering during autumn is usually unnecessary. Avoid waterlogged soil.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or balcony boxes with drainage holes and a well-drained potting mix. Bulbs can be planted slightly closer together than in garden beds.
- After flowering: Remove faded flowers, but allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season.
- Returning each year: Botanical tulips are particularly suitable for naturalising and can multiply and flower for many years when conditions are suitable. Garden tulips may also return in following seasons, although flowering performance depends on the variety and growing conditions.
