The elegant and delicate buds of the Captain Odeon variety grace the summer bed with their rich orange tresses in July and August. With a later planting date, the bulbs will flower until the end of September.
Appearance
Calla attracts the eye not only with its beautiful bud attire, but also with its original leaves, which are covered in a sparse white mottle and have a light waxy patina.
Height of the plant: 65 cm
Flower height: 9-10 cm
Blossom months: July to August
Flower colour: brick orange
So that the leaves will remain ornamental for longer and the buds will not fade in the sun, the plants should be planted in a slightly shaded area during the midday hours. The Captain Odeon tubers should be planted permanently in April and May when the days and nights are consistently warm. Planting depth should be up to 10 cm and preferably in loose, water-permeable soil with an acidic reaction. Water with acidified water throughout the growing season. In October, dig the bulbs out of the ground for overwintering in the cellar.
