Canna President - flower bulbs and perennial plants from Holland
Product Description - Canna President
In nature, Canna lilies grow in Central and South America. The flowers are large or small and slender and available in the colours yellow, pink, orange and red, or variations thereof. The leaves of Canna lilies offer additional ornamental value with their colours. They come with green, red or variegated leaves.
The canna lily plant is a flamboyant summer flowering plant with a bold look. The plant grows from thick, fleshy bulbs. Canna is a genus in the banana family called Cannaceae.
Canna lily plants like moisture. Water them well but make sure to plant the roots in well-drained soil. Soggy soil can rot roots quickly. Apply mulch to retain moisture in dry areas.

How to Plant - Canna President
Guide and tips for planting canna lily bulbs
Choose the planting location: Canna bulbs prefer full sun and well-drained soil. Avoid planting in areas with standing water or where the soil remains soggy after rainfall.
Prepare the soil: Loosen the soil and remove any weeds or debris from the planting area. Amend the soil with compost or organic matter to improve the soil's fertility and drainage.
Plant the bulbs: Dig a hole that is about 8-12 cm deep and place the Canna bulb with the pointy end facing up. Space the bulbs about 36-48 cm apart.
Cover the bulbs: Cover the Canna bulbs with soil and gently press down to remove air pockets. Make sure the soil level is even with the surrounding soil.
Water the bulbs: Give the bulbs a thorough watering after planting to settle the soil around them. Canna bulbs prefer consistently moist soil, so water them regularly, but avoid over-watering as this can cause rot.
Mulch the area: Add a layer of organic mulch around the bulbs to help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Keep the mulch a few inches away from the base of the bulbs to prevent rot.
Fertilize the plants: Canna plants are heavy feeders and require regular fertilization throughout the growing season. Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks or use slow-release fertilizer at the time of planting.
Monitor the bulbs: Canna bulbs typically take about 2-3 weeks to sprout, so be patient. Once they sprout, water and fertilize regularly to encourage healthy growth. Canna plants can bloom in mid to late summer and may require occasional deadheading to promote continuous blooming.
