Product Description - Galanthus Jaquenetta
The Galanthus 'Jaquenetts' is a unique, historical collector’s variety of English breeding, developed in the mid-20th century. This snowdrop is celebrated for the remarkable architecture of its double-flowered bud, which resembles a miniature ballroom bell. It features three long, pristine white outer petals that serve as a delicate protective frame. Inside, the bud is packed with numerous short petals, densely colored in a rich emerald-green, creating an artistic, bicolor effect.
The plant reaches a height of 20–25 cm and produces a subtle, fresh spring aroma. 'Jaquenetts' is exceptionally hardy and resilient, making it an ideal choice for naturalizing in shady areas under deciduous trees, in rock gardens, or in decorative containers.

How to Plant - Galanthus Jaquenetta
Planting & Care Instructions
Galanthus (Snowdrops) are delicate early-spring bulbs perfect for naturalizing, borders and woodland gardens. Fully hardy and perennial, they produce charming blooms very early in the year and return reliably season after season.
- Planting time: Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, before the ground freezes. Flowering time generally occurs from February to March.
- Preparation: No special pre-soaking required. Ensure bulbs are firm and healthy before planting.
- Position & soil: Choose a position in partial to full shade. Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged areas.
- Planting depth & spacing: For standard snowdrop bulbs, size 5/6 cm, plant approximately 5–7 cm deep and 5–10 cm apart.
- Watering: Water after planting to settle the soil. Snowdrops tolerate dry summer dormancy without needing additional water during that period.
- Growing in containers: Use pots or containers with drainage holes and a moist, well-drained potting mix.
- After flowering: Allow the foliage to remain until it naturally turns yellow and dies back so the bulb can store energy for next year.
- Returning each year: Galanthus are fully hardy perennials that multiply easily and naturalize beautifully in garden soils.
