About Rose ‘Foetida Persian Yellow’ – Historic Golden Yellow Rose
Rose ‘Foetida Persian Yellow’ is a famous heritage rose admired for its brilliant golden-yellow flowers and historical significance in rose breeding. The blooms are fully double and appear in abundance during late spring and early summer, creating one of the most striking displays among old garden roses. Their vivid colour was instrumental in introducing yellow shades into many modern rose varieties. Although flowering occurs only once each year, the intensity and abundance of blooms make the display unforgettable. The shrub develops an upright, somewhat arching habit and thrives in sunny positions with good air circulation.
How to Plant Rose ‘Foetida Persian Yellow’?
Plant in a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil and avoid excessively wet conditions. Allow spacing of 150–200 cm between plants to accommodate its mature size. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain moderate moisture during establishment. Apply mulch annually to improve soil quality while keeping the crown well ventilated. Prune lightly after flowering, removing only damaged or overcrowded stems.
