About Rose ‘Gloire de Dijon’ – Historic Buff Apricot Climbing Rose
Rose ‘Gloire de Dijon’ is a legendary climbing tea rose admired for its large, richly scented blooms in shades of buff yellow, apricot, cream, and soft pink. The flowers are full, loosely formed, and possess an old-fashioned elegance that gives the plant exceptional romantic appeal. Blooming repeatedly throughout the season, this rose creates a luxurious display on walls, pergolas, and arches. Its strong tea fragrance fills the surrounding area and makes it especially valuable near seating spaces and entrances. The vigorous growth habit and flexible canes allow the plant to cover structures beautifully while maintaining a graceful appearance.
How to Plant Rose ‘Gloire de Dijon’?
Choose a warm, sunny, and sheltered location with fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Allow spacing of 200–300 cm and provide sturdy support for its climbing growth. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain regular moisture during dry periods. Apply mulch annually to conserve soil moisture and improve soil quality.
