Product Description - Rose Golden Gate
The Rose 'Golden Gate' (Rosa 'Golden Gate', also known as Rosa 'KORgolgat') is a vibrant climbing rose bred by Tim Hermann Kordes for Kordes Roses in 1995, celebrated for its clusters of medium-sized, semi-double to double blooms in a sunny, golden-yellow hue that brightens any garden with cheerful warmth. The open, cupped flowers, with 17–25 petals and a strong, fruity fragrance blending citrus and apple, bloom profusely in repeated flushes from early summer through fall, creating a dazzling vertical display. This compact climber is perfect for trellises, arches, small walls, or containers, adding radiant color and delightful scent to patios or urban gardens.
The plant grows to a height of 180–250 cm (6–8 feet) with a spread of 120–150 cm, depending on support and pruning. Its glossy, dark green foliage offers excellent disease resistance, particularly against black spot and mildew, complementing the luminous flowers, which measure 6–8 cm in diameter. 'Golden Gate' thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil, benefiting from regular pruning to maintain shape and encourage flowering. Hardy in USDA zones 5–9, it is ideal for temperate gardens, attracting pollinators and delivering continuous waves of fragrant, golden beauty.
