About Rose ‘La France’ – The First Hybrid Tea Classic
Rose ‘La France’ holds a special place in rose history as one of the first hybrid tea roses ever introduced. It is admired for its large, elegant blooms in soft silvery pink, often with a delicate lilac undertone. The flowers are full and loosely formed, exuding a strong, sweet fragrance that has made this variety a timeless favorite. Blooming repeatedly throughout the season, this rose develops into a graceful shrub with slightly arching stems, perfectly suited for classic gardens, rose collections, and fragrant planting schemes.
How to Plant Rose ‘La France’?
Plant in a sunny or lightly sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost. Ensure the graft union is positioned just below soil level and allow spacing of 80–120 cm. Water thoroughly after planting and maintain even moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply mulch annually and feed regularly during the growing season to encourage strong growth and repeated flowering.
