The Rose 'Leonardo da Vinci' (Rosa 'Leonardo da Vinci', also known as Rosa 'MEIpitac') is a beloved floribunda rose introduced by Meilland International in 1993, celebrated for its abundant clusters of large, nostalgically shaped, fully double blooms in a rich, warm pink that holds its color beautifully in all weather. The quartered-rosette flowers, with 60–80 densely packed petals and a light, delicate tea-rose fragrance, open continuously from early summer until late fall, creating a breathtaking sea of romantic pink. This award-winning variety is perfect for beds, borders, low hedges, or as long-lasting cut flowers that bring old-rose charm into the home.
The plant grows to a height of 80–120 cm (31–47 inches) with a bushy, upright habit and a spread of 60–90 cm. Its glossy, dark green foliage offers excellent disease resistance, especially against black spot and mildew, complementing the luminous flowers, which measure 8–10 cm in diameter. 'Leonardo da Vinci' thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil, requiring minimal care while attracting pollinators. Hardy in USDA zones 5–9, it is ideal for temperate gardens and delivers non-stop waves of classic, romantic beauty.
