About Rose ‘Officinalis’ – Roots and Flowers
Rose ‘Officinalis’, also known as the Apothecary’s Rose, is a historic gallica rose treasured for its deep pink, semi-double blooms. The flowers are richly fragrant and have been cultivated for centuries for their medicinal and ornamental value. Its once-flowering habit is compensated by an impressive early summer display and decorative hips, making it a wonderful choice for heritage gardens.
How to Plant Rose ‘Officinalis’?
Plant Rose ‘Officinalis’ in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Space plants about 100–120 cm apart to allow for its natural, bushy growth. Place the graft union just below soil level and water thoroughly after planting. This rose requires minimal pruning and thrives with simple, low-maintenance care.
