Product Description - Rose Sweetheart
Rose ‘Sweetheart’ is a delicate, romantic garden rose with slowly opening, double blooms in creamy white with a soft pink edge and a brighter red border. The flowers keep a beautiful shape at every stage of opening and are produced in small clusters, giving the plant a neat, elegant look in the garden. Originally bred for cutting, it also performs impressively in beds and borders, and it can be used as a flowering hedge. The fragrance is gentle and pleasant, adding a soft accent rather than an overpowering scent.
The plant forms a low, branched bush reaching about 60–75 cm (24–30 inches) in height, with glossy dark-green foliage and 1–3 flowers per stem. Blooms measure about 6–8 cm in diameter and appear over a long period with abundant flowering; in hot weather the white base colour may take on a creamy-yellow tint. Grow it in a sunny spot with humus-rich, well-prepared, well-drained soil, water during heat, and feed to support continuous flowering. Regular deadheading helps maintain repeat bloom and a tidy appearance, while basic winter protection is recommended in colder regions.
