About Rose ‘Young Lycidas’ – Roots and Flowers
Rose ‘Young Lycidas’ is a striking English shrub rose bred by David Austin, known for its deeply cupped, old-rose-style blooms in a rich blend of magenta, pink, and purple tones. Its petals are densely packed and open in a romantic, ruffled form. This variety is highly valued not only for its vibrant coloring but also for its strong, complex fragrance that combines tea rose, myrrh, and fruity notes.
How to Plant Rose ‘Young Lycidas’?
Plant in a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil. Ensure the crown is just below the soil surface and provide enough space for air circulation. Regular watering and mulching will support healthy growth. Lightly prune in early spring to maintain its shape and encourage repeat blooming.
